Pick Your Own
18 December 2024 to 31 January 2025
Daily 10am to 5pm*
*Christmas Eve 24th Dec 10am-8pm
*Christmas Day 25th Dec 10am-1pm
The biggest range of berries are likely to be available between Christmas and mid January.
Our Pick Your Own Berry season is short and glorious.
How It Works.
We welcome you to our farm, and are confident that you will have a wonderful experience in the patches.
We encourage you to take your time. Here you can slow down, bathe in nature, connect with your food, and just be. If you are in a hurry and just want to grab a quick punnet for tonight’s dinner, then that’s fine too.
We also encourage you to eat while you pick. That’s right! We want you to try all the berries and they are best eaten straight off the canes and shrubs. Everyone has their own flavour preferences. You should check whether the colour you are picking suits your tastebuds. You can fill your belly as much as you like!
We try our best to keep the pick your own patches mowed, and free of weeds and other obstacles, but this is a working farm where two people do everything by hand, so it will not be manicured, or sanitised like a factory farm.
There is a modest entry fee that also includes a belly full of berries. You don’t have to pick any berries to take away if you just want to have an experience in the patches.
If you do want to pick to take away, then you can either pick into a pre-paid punnet that we provide, or bring your own container, which we will weigh on entry and exit, to calculate how much you will need to pay.
2024/25 season prices.
Farm Entry + Belly Full $10 per person / $20 family (once only for the season)
Take-away Punnet (fits roughly 500g) $10 each
BYO Containers $18 kilo ($10 minimum)
The fine print
The entry fee helps us to cover the expenses of having people onto our farm - including insurance.
Small children usually eat at least their own weight in berries, so all humans count for the entry fee.
A family is one or more adults with dependent children and young people. We have decided to be as affordable as possible for as many families as possible.
The Farm Entry fee applies even if you don’t eat any berries while you are on the property.
If you are a returning customer and only want to fill your belly, we suggest $5 for a belly full.
If you have the means, and believe you’ve had an experience worth more than the entry fee, we accept tips on exit.
Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
Humans only please. Leave your pets at home. Guide dogs are of course welcome.
Rainy days are not berry picking weather. Berries picked in rain go sloppy and mouldy very quickly.
We have some patches that are relatively gently sloped, but most of the farm is on steep inclines so is only suitable for those who are able to manage hills.
The farm slopes down to unfenced dams.
This is a small working farm where we work with nature. That means that hazards that you need to look out for include:
insects, spiders, and snakes
prickly weeds
uneven ground - eg bandicoot holes
waterways
animal poo
